PAUL HOLLYWOOD COMMENDS BRIAN SPENCE’S TILLEY GLUTEN FREE PRODUCTS

Brian Spence has had a burning ambition to help coeliac sufferers for some years and finally in 2015, he opened his purpose built Tilleys Gluten Free Bakery in Paignton, Devon. His drive has been fueled by two very good reasons – his son is a coeliac sufferer and his partner is gluten intolerant and Brian has seen, first hand, how difficult these conditions can be.
His mission is to make life very much better for those who suffer these conditions by creating and producing full flavoured, high quality gluten free products, which on a blind tasting, people would not think were gluten free. He uses only the very best ingredients and highly specialized techniques that have been acquired from his huge experience in the bakery trade.

BRIAN IS NOT NEW TO BAKING

Brian has been a commercial baker all his working life and was awarded his CITY & GUILDS CERTIFICATE FOR BAKING, passing with distinction,  in 1981.

Since then he has baked for several prestige bakeries, winning many awards along the way.   Most recently, Brian managed Scotland’s CHALMERS BAKERY & SHOP, who were bakers to Her Majesty The Queen’s Balmoral Estate with their famous BALMORAL BREAD.

BAKING IS IN BRIAN’S FAMILY

Baking is a tradition in Brian’s family.    His grandmother ran TILLEYS BAKERY in Kettering for many years in the early half of the 20th century.   Brian has now revived the family baking tradition and has brought back the TILLEYS NAME.
